Festival 6 Cuerdas

The Festival Internacional 6Cuerdas, organised by the production company Tensamba, S.L., has been held for the last 17 editions and some of the most famous local, national and international guitarists have performed there. Among other artists we have been privileged to have brought Vicente Amigo, Niño Josele, Trio Rosenberg, Sylvain Luc, Stanley Jordan, Duo Asad, Yamandu Costa, Nelson Veras, Anna Tréa, Eleonora Strino, Miguel Martins and Torsten De Winkel among others. The festival has also worked from the beginning on the training of our Canarian artists, taking advantage of all the great international and national guitarists that we have managed to bring in. Some of the most acclaimed Canarian artists and also young promises have had their space in this festival. Guitarists such as Javier Infante, Miguel Manescau, Touché, Yul Ballesteros, Iván Rojas, Jonay Martin, Luis Alejandro García are some examples.

We have had workshops and masterclasses offered by the artists who have participated in the festival, generating direct contact with them, who have transmitted their knowledge and experiences to the attendees. These parallel educational activities have been very well received by the audience and have led to a greater knowledge of the guest artists, who have been able to enjoy the live concerts from a different perspective. The artists also discover in these activities the concerns and motivations of the audience, creating a very important and valuable reciprocal exchange from our point of view.

The Festival 6Cuerdas was born under the name of Festival de La Guitarra de La Laguna, the city that hosted it until the seventh edition in which the festival broadened its horizons due to a demand for the music of this popular instrument and the different genres in which it participates. In terms of mobility, we have taken the festival to Gran Canaria, La Gomera, Tenerife, Lanzarote and El Hierro.
